Applies to My Car Wallet 0.11.0 internal testing. This policy describes the actual test build, including optional test advertising. We will update it before changing data handling or enabling production advertising or purchases.

Vehicle records on your device

My Car Wallet stores vehicle names, vehicle-use classifications (owned, rented, family or borrowed), currencies, measurement units, purchase and rental payments, sale proceeds, rental income, fuel records, odometer readings, income, expenses, maintenance details, service/insurance reminder titles, due dates, odometer thresholds, completion states, manually entered fuel estimates (purchase date and odometer, current odometer, remaining fuel or manually entered vehicle-dashboard driving range, capacity, known economy, optional fuel at purchase and entry time; retained older estimates may include unit price and reserve) and notes in the app's private local database. Core record keeping and reports work offline. The current preview has no app login, record-sync server or developer-run analytics service. It does not request location or contacts access.

Exports and sharing

When you choose CSV or PDF export, Android lets you select a document location or storage provider. PDF reports contain the selected vehicle/period records and notes, without photo attachments. Share PDF opens Android sharing with temporary read-only access to one report. Temporary generated reports are stored in app cache, eligible for cleanup after seven days and cleared by Delete all local records. Reminders are local and shown inside the app; this version does not schedule background phone alerts. When you choose Share report, Android lets you select another application and decide how to send the report summary. The recipient application or storage provider processes the information under its own terms. Copies you export or share are outside My Car Wallet's local deletion controls.

App sharing is limited to the published Google Play listing link. It is inactive until a real listing is configured and does not share the installation APK or a private Drive link.

Private photos and text recognition

You can take a photo with an external camera app or select an image to attach to a vehicle or record. My Car Wallet stores a normalized private JPEG copy with source EXIF/GPS metadata removed; it does not modify your original selected image. Photos remain on the device and are not included in CSV exports. Deleting a record or vehicle deletes its attached private copies; uninstalling deletes app-private photos. User-created full backups include registered photos and their record links and can be restored as separate vehicle copies.

The bundled Google ML Kit reader processes image content and recognized text on-device. Suggestions are shown for review and correction; financial records are only created or changed when you confirm Save. The app does not upload photos or recognized text to a developer server or to Google for recognition. ML Kit may contact Google for technical maintenance and send device/app information, per-installation identifiers, configuration, performance and feature-event metrics for diagnostics and usage analytics. Read ML Kit privacy information and technical data disclosures. These SDK metrics are distinct from your vehicle records and image content.

The app does not request broad storage access or its own camera permission. The external camera receives temporary access to the capture output file; your selected camera or image provider has its own privacy practices.

Optional advertising in this preview

Google test advertising is off by default. Enabling it contacts Google's advertising services, which may process device, network, advertising-performance and diagnostic information. My Car Wallet's code does not forward your vehicle or financial records to advertising services. The preview requests non-personalized test inventory. Google Mobile Ads SDK 25.5.0 can collect and share IP addresses (which may infer approximate location), app interactions, diagnostics/performance data and device or other identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Advertising ID, Topics and attribution permissions are removed from the app manifest; this does not establish that all identifier processing is disabled on every supported Android version. Read the Google Mobile Ads data disclosure. SDK data is transmitted using TLS. Test inventory and non-personalized requests do not eliminate data processing. Keep test advertising disabled if you do not want to activate these optional advertising services.

Read Google's Privacy Policy. The test-ad switch is off by default and can be turned off in Settings. Production ad consent and privacy options are not yet enabled; no live advertising is served in this build. We will update the app and this policy before enabling production advertising.

Payments

The current preview does not take payments: purchase and purchase-restore controls are disabled. A one-time Google Play purchase to remove advertising is planned. Before enabling it, this policy must be updated to identify any purchase-verification server, the purchase tokens or identifiers it processes, its purposes, processors, security, retention and deletion/support arrangements.

Manual backup and restore

You may create a full backup containing all vehicles, financial records, notes, registered photos, reminders and fuel settings. You choose the location through Android's document picker; a cloud document provider you select may transfer it under its own privacy practices. There is no automatic developer-operated upload or synchronization. Backup files are not password-protected or encrypted by this app. Keep them private. Restore validates and previews contents, then adds separate vehicle copies after confirmation while retaining current data. Advertising preferences and purchase entitlements are not restored.

Private temporary snapshots/staging are removed on completion/cancellation, erase-all, or after seven days when the backup screen next opens. A private recovery journal and local receipt track interrupted/completed restores. Exported backups remain under your control outside the app; erasing or uninstalling this app does not delete external copies. CSV/PDF reports are not full restorable backups.

Storage, retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them through the app or remove the app. Deleting a vehicle deletes its associated local records. Settings also provides deletion of all local records. Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup of the app's data are disabled. CSV exports are readable exports, not restorable app backups.

The database is stored in Android's app-private storage; this preview does not add its own database or photo encryption. Keep your phone secured. Exported/shared copies and information held by third-party services follow those services' retention and deletion rules. There is no My Car Wallet user account to delete in the current preview.

Publisher website and support

The publisher website opens in your browser only when you tap its link. Your browser and the website may process information separately from this app. If you contact support, the provider receives the information you choose to send and uses it to respond. Support messages remain in the support mailbox while needed to respond and handle related issues or legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing hamtun@gmail.com. We review requests and explain any information that must be retained. Do not email passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary identity documents. Third-party email services process messages under their own policies.

Audience and updates

My Car Wallet is intended for users aged 16 and over and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact hamtun@gmail.com so we can review and delete it as appropriate. Local laws may impose additional protections for users under 18; this test build does not enable production advertising or purchases. We will update this policy when the app's data handling changes and publish the effective date. For privacy questions, contact hamtun@gmail.com.
